Ugadi festival: City Police issues instructions to public

Mysuru: With Chandramana Ugadi being celebrated tomorrow, the Mysuru City Police, in a bid to maintain the law and order situation in city have issued instructions to the public for peaceful celebration of the festival.

The Police, who have banned gambling of all sorts in public places, have warned mischief mongers to refrain from eve teasing, drinking and creating problems in public.

The Cops have asked women folks not to openly display gold ornaments they are wearing while visiting temples besides asking the public to be beware of pick pocketers and chain snatchers at markets and other public places. Function organisers should take prior permission from CESC to draw power and not to draw electricity directly from electric poles, organisers of processions should deploy their personnel at vantage points besides taking precautions to prevent any untoward incidents by contacting the jurisdictional Police Station and taking prior permission from them before organising functions and not to create religious disharmony while passing in front of Churches, Mosques and other religious places of worship. The Police have asked the public to inform the Police Control Room if they come across unidentified persons and suspicious materials.
