Ugly garbage collecting autos

September 8, 2017

Sir,

Dasara is fast approaching. We aspire for more and more visitors, including foreigners. We want them to enjoy and appreciate a cleanest city, Mysuru.

But look at how ugly the garbage collecting autos appear first thing in the morning. The picture above is from Ramakrishnanagar First Main. The same is the story in other areas too including the bigger trucks with Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (may have been sold as junk) written boldly and torn and leaking in all places. The reason? The big contractor having grabbed the contract sits pretty in Bengaluru and the authority here is looking elsewhere. Can we please wake up once in a year at least for Dasara?

– Prof. B.S. Shankara, Ramakrishnanagar, 2.9.2017
