Bengaluru: Following closure of Schools and Colleges due to Covid-19 second wave, unaided Private School teachers, who have been facing financial crisis, went in a delegation led by Primary and Secondary Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar to meet Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and sought special economic package.

In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, it was stated that due to the financial crunch many educational institutions closed after Covid-19 first wave and now second wave. Even the parents refused to pay the fees, therefore the management found it difficult to handle the situation and not pay the salaries.

In order to save the teachers and non-teaching staff facing financial difficulties, the State Government should announce a special economic package which was announced to others in the State, they urged.

The Chief Minister, in response to the memorandum, assured that the matter will be discussed in the Cabinet and also with the Finance Department and considered positively.
