Bengaluru: With just a few months remaining until the crucial Lok Sabha polls, the BJP’s national leadership announced on Monday the appointment of senior party leader and Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Bhupender Yadav, as the Party in-charge for Karnataka. This decision comes as a replacement for B.L. Santosh and Arun Singh.
In the Assembly polls held in May last year, the BJP faced a significant setback in the State under the leadership of Santosh and Arun Singh as the party in- charge. Following this, numerous State leaders voiced their concerns to the BJP high command.
As the countdown to the Lok Sabha polls has already begun, with political parties gearing up their cadre, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav has been entrusted with the complete charge of the party affairs in Karnataka.
The appointment of Yadav is seen as a strategic move by the party to reconcile with disgruntled leaders who had left the party before the Assembly polls last year. The objective is to bring them back into the party fold and to establish a united front of State leaders capable of challenging the ruling Congress in Karnataka.
