Unlicensed shops and commercial establishments to be closed: DC

Mysore/Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner Dr. K.V. Rajendra has directed officials to close down shops and all other commercial establishments which do not have license.

He was speaking after chairing a Task Force meeting of Mysuru District Child Labour Planning  Society at his Office here on Friday.

Stressing on the need for observing Anti-child Labour Day in a meaningful and purposeful manner, he said that officials of concerned departments should conduct regular checks for child labour and take legal  action as per Section 17 of Child Labour (Prohibition and  Regulation) Act, 1986, which prohibits employment of children in certain specified hazardous occupations and processes and regulate the working conditions in others, against those violating the Act.

ZP CEO K.M. Gayathri, Assistant Commissioner Kamalabai, other officials and members of local NGOs were present.
