Unsafe night train journeys

August 13, 2018

Sir,

Recently, I travelled from Hosur to Madurai and back by KSR Nagercoil Express on both directions in three tier AC. It is an excellent train. Even though it is an AC Coach and reserved compartment neither the TTE nor RPF staff take any care of the coach — all the doors are left open, anybody can get in and get out of the bogie at their will and 99% of passengers are fast asleep without bothering any safety.

Actually in my previous journey by Tanjore Express there was a theft in Dharmapuri outer and RPF personnel at Dharmapuri Station were helpless.

My advice for passengers is never travel by night trains; it is absolutely risky. Railways never bother about passengers’ safety. RPF in running trains is a sheer waste.
