UnTame Ruck Run in city on Nov. 3

October 24, 2019

UnTame Ruck Run will be organised in city on Nov.3 (Sunday) at 7 am near Mysore Airport at Mandakalli. It is Mysuru’s first-ever Ruck Race and the second flagship event of RE3 Command Fitness.

The first event conducted by the organisers in Mysuru was ‘UnTame Obstacle Course Race’ on Feb.17 this year and the event gained good response with more than 200 participants.

What is a Ruck Run?

A Ruck Run involves running long distances with a load on one’s back. Male athletes will be carrying a load of 9 kgs, female athletes 4.5 kgs and kids will carry a load of 2.3 kgs.

Why this race?

Abhijith Ravindra, Race Director, UnTame Race says, “The inspiration for the event is Armed Forces as Ruck Run is one of the key training methods used in the Armed Forces. Their role demands moving long distances with heavy loads at quick speeds. Ruck Running is also a popular sport in North America and many European countries. This is to offer Mysureans tougher and adventurous challenges.”

Who can participate?

Individuals with any level of fitness and age groups can participate. One does not need to be an athlete to take part in this race. Additional weight would mean more energy expenditure and the race will test running ability, strength, endurance, power and grit.
