UoM foreign students told to be cordial with local residents

Mysuru:  The International Centre of University of Mysore (UoM) had organised a one-day orientation programme for foreign students at Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri here on Saturday.

Inaugurating he programme, ACB SP Dr. H.T. Shekar asked the foreign students to be cordial with local residents and abide by the laws of the region.

He observed that Mysuru was a very safe place for foreign students to pursue higher education.

Continuing, Dr. Shekar pointed out that the foreign students were literally the ambassadors of their respective country and added that such students should uphold the dignity of their parent country. He advised the students to concentrate only on studies.
UoM in-Charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. T.K. Umesh presided.

Chinese programme Co-ordinator Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar was the guest of honour. ICCR Bengaluru Regional Director P. Venugopal, International Centre Director Prof. G.R. Janardhan and others were present. Over 250 foreign students of various colleges participated.
