UoM researchers seek Ph.D guides

May 22, 2025

Mysuru: Alleging that there has been lack of  Ph.D  guides in the University of Mysore (UoM) for guiding research students in their pursuit of Ph.D degree, the students under the banner of UoM Research Students Association staged a demonstration in front of Crawford Hall here on Tuesday.

Charging that lack of Ph.D guides has been hurting new research students, they main-tained that those who have qualified in K-SET, UGC-NET, JRF and other such exams are not getting opportunities for pursuing Ph.D. As such, the UoM must allow research students to get guidance from Professors who are on regular rolls, they urged and sought more Ph.D seats.

Former Mayor Purushotham, the Association President Shivashankar, Vice-President Murali Mahesh, Vishwa Prasad, Rohan, Roja and others took part in the protest.
