UoM Researchers stage protest against change of Yuvaraja’s College Principal

Mysore/Mysuru: Alleging the Yuvaraja’s College Principal Dr. B.N. Yashodha has been removed from the post which is against the law, members of University of Mysore (UoM) Researchers’ Association staged a protest in front of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue in Manasagangothri campus here on Saturday.

The protesters said that by removing Dr. Yashodha, a Dalit woman, the UoM administration was practicing untouchability.

Pointing out that Dr. Yashodha was removed from the post of Principal all of a sudden, which is against the law and appointing Prof. Devarajegowda, who has less experience than Dr.  Yashodha, the protesters alleged that expect for Administrative Officer and Student Welfare Officers, the Administration has appointed people of upper caste to other posts, thus practicing untouchability.

They said that Dr. Yashodha will be retiring from service in three months and removing her from the post of Principal at this juncture was not proper. The protesters urged the authorities concerned to take back the order.

Association Hon. President Mahesh Sosale, President Nataraj Shivanna and Secretary Shivamurthy took part in the protest.
