Urdu seminar and mushaira held

Mysuru: Karnataka State Urdu Academy and  Faizan-e-Adab had organised a seminar and Urdu mushaira on Sunday at Town Hall in city.

Prof. Shabbir Mohammed Mustafa, Hon. Secretary, MESCO,  inaugurated the seminar. Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath and Dy. Mayor Shafi Ahmed were the chief guests.

Dr. Sanaulla Shariff, Associate Professor, Government First Grade College, Varthur, spoke on late Mushtaq Ahmed Yusufi.

Academy Chairman Mubeen Munawar presided. Zareena Khursheed compered.  On the occasion, the Academy felicitated the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

The seminar began with the recitation of verses from Quran followed by Naath-e-Shariff by Jameel Ahmed Jameel. Momina Muqtar, President, Faizan-e-Urdu Adab, welcomed. Nyamath Ulla Khan, Abdul Rahman Khan Gowher Tarikervi and Mushtaq Sayeed were on the dais.

In the second session, Urdu mushaira was held. Mubeen Munavvar, Chairman of the Academy  presided Urdu poets meet and inaugurated the Mushaira by lighting the traditional lamp.

Following poets from all over the State and Tamil Nadu recited their compositions:

Shadab Bedhadak Vanyambadi, Tamil Nadu, Asar Jaffari Alipur, Nazir Nusrath Hungama, Bengaluru, Ibrahim Nafees, Bengaluru, Raffath Asfi, Bengaluru, Fayaz Shakeeb, Bengaluru, N.Mohammed Ghouse Khateeb, Nagamangala, Amir Jan Ameer, Nagmangala, Gafran Amjad Banarasi, Bengaluru, Adil Ahmed Adil Kolari, Mohammed Abbas Khan Gauhar, Kirgavalu, Abdur Rahman Khan Gauhar Tarikervi, Syed Ahmed Rahil, Mysuru,  Nusrath Raheem Nusrath, Ayeesha Chand, Mysuru, Asar Sayeed, Mysuru, Ajaz Rani Bennuri, Momina Mukhtar, Mysuru and Mushtaq Sayeed. Noted poet from Bengaluru Ibrahim Nafees compered the mushaira.

Momina Mukhtar, President, Faizan E Urdu Adab  and Secretary Dr. Suriya Khanum felicitated all the poets and chief guests with a shawl, garland and mementoes.
