US accreditation can enhance quality of education in business schools

Mysuru: Quality of education can be enhanced if the Business Schools in South Asia have the ACBSP accreditation, said ACBSP10 Region President Dr. Rajesh Khajuria.

He was speaking at the valedictory of 2017 ACBSP Region 10 Fall Conference on the theme “Transforming Students Success through Retention, Recruitment and Re-entry” organised by SDM-Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD) here on Nov.16  and said that if all the South Asian business schools are accredited, then it will become convenient to provide quality education to the students.

The Management School students and teachers can have mutual exchange programmes. For instance, the students studying in Management Schools in America that is accredited by ACBSP (it is a US organisation offering accreditation services to business programmes focused on teaching and learning) and those studying in Mysuru with this accreditation can have an exchange programme. Even the Professors who teach in US Business Schools can come and teach here under this programme, he said.

Dr. Steve Pascal, Chief Accreditation Officer, ACBSP, USA, said that the accreditation acts as a bridge between what are taught in the institution and what the industry needs.

Dr. Jeffrey Alderman, Chief Administrative Office, ACBSP, USA spoke about the improvement of quality with the accreditation.

SDM-IMD Director Dr. N.S. Parashuram, Deputy Director Dr. H. Gayathri, Academic Dean Dr. R. Jagadish and others  were present.
