Singers to render popular numbers from films of Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan
On Sunday, the 30th of December, V. N. Prasad & Troupe is all set to stage its last programme at Kalamandira, commencing at 5.45 pm. The programme is structured around film songs of three Khans — Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman. Soulful numbers of the late 80s to early 21st century will feature in the event.
After the demise of the greats namely Mukesh (1976), Mohammed Rafi (1980) and Kishore Kumar (1987), the Hindi film industry struggled to fill the vacuum. Singers like Shabbir Kumar, Vinod Rathod, S. P. Balasubramanyam did the honours. Not until Udith Narayan (1988) and Kumar Sanu (1989) and later Sonu Nigam came into full-fledged singing did the composers really recover.
New generation composers like Jatin-Lalith, Shankar Mahadevan, A.R. Rahman, Anu Malik, Vishal-Shekhar, Nadeem Shravan, Ismail Darbar, Anand Milind, Mansoor Khan, Himesh Reshmaya etc., appeared on the scene and indeed composed very soulful numbers.
That was the period when the three Khans, namely Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman, commenced their journey in the tinsel world and are continuing to serve the film industry.
Compositions like ‘Ankhon Ki Gustakia’, ‘Suraj Hua Maddam’, ‘Humko Hameese Churalo’, ‘Radha Kaise Na Jale’, ‘Sathiya E Kya Kia’, ‘Pehala Nasha’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Subhanalla’, ‘Jane Kyon Log Pyar Kartehein’ etc., bore the stamp of class.
Admission to the programme is free of cost and commences at 5.45 pm. Prasad has requested music-lovers to park their vehicles in a disciplined manner, avoid carrying edibles into the auditorium and ensure cleanliness in and around Kalamandira.
