‘Vachana Sahitya helps to build confidence in life’

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru City Unit of Akhila Bharata Sharana Sahitya Parishat had organised Haradanahalli Kambi Malappa and Muddumadappa Endowment programme at JSS Teachers Training Institute in Saraswathipuram here recently.

Speaking after inaugurating the programme that featured Vachana recitation and art expo, retired Professor Dr. C.G. Ushadevi said, “People, in particular youngsters, should start studying Vachanas because Vachana Sahitya helps to build confidence in life. We should come out of mobile phone addiction and start using the same valuable time in a meaningful way.”

Parsihat Mysuru Unit President G.S. Shivashankar presided. Mangala Muddumadappa, artist L. Shivalingappa, JSS Women’s PU College Principal M.P. Rajeshwari, former President of District Kannada Sahitya Parishat Prof. N. Girigowda, President of Sharana Sahitya Parishat NR Constituency Unit M. Shadakshari and Convenor K.S. Umapathi were present.
