‘Vaidya Bhaskar Award’ presented to achiever doctors

Mysore/Mysuru: Marking Doctors Day celebrations, Pejawar Adhokshaja Mutt Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji conferred ‘Vaidya Bhaskar’ award on achiever doctors at a programme jointly  organised by Srikrishna Mitra Mandali, City and District Brahmins Association, Apoorva Sneha Balaga and KMPK Charitable Trust at Sri Krishnadhama in Saraswathipuram here on Friday.

Those who received the awards are Dr. M.N. Ravi, Dr. Arati, Dr. Roopa Prakash, Dr. K.P. Sridhar, Dr. Prashanth, Dr. G.N. Kiran, Dr. R. Yogesh and Dr. E. Suhas.

Speaking after conferring the award, Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji said that doctors play an important role in the building of a healthy society. Recalling the saying ‘Vaidyo Narayano Hari,’ the Seer said that there is no caste, creed identity for doctors.

Pointing out that building confidence among patients is also important for the quick recovery of patients, he said that the work of doctors is more virtuous.

Kamakshi Hospital Head Mahesh Shenoy, in his address, called upon the youths to come out of the influence of western culture. Pointing out one can work and earn money only if health permits, he said this has underlined the importance of keeping good health and fitness.

Stating that Veda Ayurveda contains vital information on maintaining a stable health, Shenoy said that doing Yoga, meditation, jogging and the like will help in maintenance of good health.

Senior social activist K. Raghuram and District Brahmins Association President D.T. Prakash too spoke.

Mayor (in-Charge) Sunanda Palanetra, Apoorva Sneha Balaga President Apoorva Suresh, Jeevadhara Blood Bank Director Girish, K.R. Bank Vice-President Basavaraj Basappa, Corporator Jagadish, KMPK Charitable Trust President Vikram Iyengar, community leaders Ajay Shastri, Vinay Kanagal, Sudheendra, Suchindra, Chakrapani, Nagashri and others were present.
