The valedictory of Dasara CM Cup, organised as part of Dasara festival, will take place at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad tomorrow (Oct. 21).
Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Dasara Sports Sub-Committee President and City Congress General Secretary M. Shivanna said that Chief Minister Siddharamaiah will distribute cups, medals and prizes to the winners of the Dasara CM Cup tournament.
Pointing out that as many as 3,509 sports-persons took part in 28 games that were held between Oct. 11 to 14 in the first phase, he said that 540 technical persons too were part of the sports meet.
Stating that most of the sports-persons were from Bengaluru city, Rural, Kalaburagi, Mysuru and Belagavi districts, he said that the sports-persons have together won a total of 696 gold, silver and bronze medals.
Continuing, Shivanna said the second phase of the tournament which began on Oct. 15, will conclude on Oct. 21, in which a total of 4,076 sports-persons are taking part in 25 games.
Minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports B. Nagendra, MLA Tanveer Sait and others will be present, he added.
Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports Assistant Director Bhaskar Nayak, Dasara Sports Sub-Committee Vice-President Kantharaju, members Parashivamurthy and Hinkal Venkatesh and Karnataka Olympic Association’s Kiran were present at the press meet.
