Valedictory of St. Philomena’s Educational Institutions’ Platinum Jubilee on Dec. 23

Philo’s Carnivals and SDLIVE tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: The valedictory of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of St. Philomena’s Educational Institutions will be held at the Indoor Stadium of the College on Dec. 23 under the patronage of Mysore Diocesan Educational Society. While the Eucharistic Celebrations will be held at 9 am, valediction will be held at 5 pm.

The year-long platinum jubilee celebrations was launched on Dec. 15 last year and various programmes were organised.

The titular head of Mysore royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar will be the chief guest at the valediction to be held on Dec. 23. University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor (acting) Prof. H. Rajashekar and Thumboochetty Foundation (Bengaluru) Managing Trustee Ravi Thumboochetty will be the guests of honour.

Bishop Emeritus (Diocese of Mysore) Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Antony Vazhapilly, Vicar General (Diocese of Mysore) Rev. Msgr. Alfred John Mendonca and Episcopal Vicar for Religious (Diocese of Mysore) Rev. Msgr. Dominic Vaz OCD will be present.

As a prelude to the event, Philo’s Carnivals, a fund-raising event for the establishment of a knowledge centre, will be held at the college’s football grounds on Dec. 22 between 10 am and 4 pm. Also, a ‘Retro to Metro Musical Event’ featuring Sinchan Dixit Live (SDLIVE) will be held at the college grounds  between 6 pm and 9 pm. Singers Ananya Bhagath, Anirudha Sastry and Vishwanath Haveri, drummer Manju, percussionist Praveen, bass guitarist Bruthuva, keyboard players Varun and Akash will be part of the concert.
