Valedictory of Zoo’s Youth Club

The valedictory of Mysuru Zoo’s unique Conservation Education programme — Youth Club — for the year 2019 will be held at the Zoo premises on Feb. 23 at 10 am. B.P. Ravi, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Member Secretary, Zoo Authority of Karnataka and Shridhar Bhat, Assistant Professor, College of Forestry, Sirsi, will be the guests of honour. Youth Club is one of the sustained public awareness campaigns and a communication programme which involves citizens of future to enable them to understand both the utilitarian and the aesthetic importance of nature. Mysuru Zoo has successfully organised 27 Youth Clubs continuously since its inception in 1993 and has provided vast knowledge to more than 1,420 students till date. Apart from Youth Club, Mysuru Zoo had also organised several literary competitions this year, in which more than 500 students participated. The winners of these competitions will be given prizes at the valedictory event, according to a press release.
