Vani Sateesh concert at Ganabharathi tomorrow

Ganabharathi has organised a vocal music concert by Vidushi Vani Sateesh on June 22 at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar.

She will be accompanied by  Vid. Achyutha Rao on violin, Vid. Trichy Aravind on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Koushik on ghata.   

Profile:  Vani Sateesh belongs to a family of musicians. Having  graduated from Fine Arts College, University of Mysore with a Master’s Degree in Music securing first rank and few gold medals she is an “A” graded artiste of All India Radio, “B High” graded composer, recipient of National Scholarship for young artistes and a National award winner of All India Radio.

She had her initial training from her uncle Bellary M. Sheshagiri Achar, a genius musician and a Vaggeyakara. She continued her training under her father Sangeetha Kalaratna Bellary M. Venkateshachar and later under her brother Bellary M. Raghavendra.

She had her advanced training under the tutelage of Padma Bhushana, Sangeeta Kalacharya  P.S. Narayana Swamy, an eminent teacher in Karnatak Music, a direct disciple of Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer.

Vani Sateesh as a performer is endowed with a melodic voice and an excellent tonal quality. In her music, one can see Karnatak style in its pristine purity and will get easily absorbed by her powerful and soul touching performance.

Vani has been performing since the age of 10. She has performed in many major sabhas and festivals throughout South India and abroad. She has done many concert tours in North America. She has also been featured in AIR Sangeetha Sammelan, South Zone Doordarshan Prime Telecast and many TV Channels.

Vani Sateesh lived in USA for 15 years and fulfilled an important role in the Indian community as a music teacher. During her stay in US, Vani taught over 150 students. Vani has also been serving the music fraternity as an organiser. Her institution, ‘Vishesha Fine Arts, based in Bengaluru, has organised numerous concerts, lecture demonstrations and workshops. She has given numerous Jugalbandi concerts with leading Hindustani musicians.
