Vani Sateesh to sing at BVB on Saturday

Mysuru:  The Kalabharathi  Wing of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru Kendra, has organised a Karnatak Classical vocal music programme by Vidushi Vani Sateesh, as part of its monthly cultural programme at Y.T. Thathachari Auditorium, BVB premises in Vijayanagar 1st Stage here on July 27 at 6 pm.

She will be accompanied by Vidushi  Aditi Krishna Prakash on violin, Vidwan H.L. Shiva Shankar Swamy on mridanga and Vidwan Sharath Koushik on ghata. 

Profile: Vidushi Vani Sateesh, a well-known Karnatak Classical vocalist, hails from a family of renowned musicians. She is the daughter of Sangeetha Kalarathna Vidwan Bellary M. Venkateshachar.

Vani took her initial training in music from her uncle Vidwan Bellary M. Sheshagiri Achar, who is a genius musician and a composer of lyrics and music (Vaggeyakara). She is a first rank holder with Gold Medal in both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music from Mysore University. 

Vani has been performing music since the age of ten.  She lived in USA for 15 years and made use of her stay by teaching music and imparting training in vocal music to many aspirants of whom many have become good teachers and well-known performers. She is an ‘A’ grade artiste in Karnatak Classical vocal music of All India Radio (AIR) and also a “B high” graded composer of AIR. She has to her credit many CDs and Albums. She has her well-known music organisation called “VISHESHA”.
