Mysore/Mysuru: Farmer leader Vidyasagar has said that Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene have organised the 88th birth anniversary celebrations of renowned farmer leader Prof. M.D. Nanjundaswamy under the title ‘Namma MDN’ at Ravindra Kalakshetra, near Town Hall, Bengaluru, on Feb. 13 at 10 am.
He was speaking at a press conference held at Pathrakartara Bhavan in the city on Friday.
“For present day youths, fight is equivalent to staging protest on streets and lay siege to Government offices. But Prof. M.D. Nanjundaswamy used to protest in a rational and logical manner. Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha is following his foot steps,” said Vidyasagar.
Continuing, he said a book ‘Baarukolu’ will be released at the function. The function also includes lectures in memory of MDN, interactions with his close associates, a play ‘Direct Action,’ Namdu Raithara Santhe, display of sowing seeds, Horatada Haadugalu, photo expo of MDN’s life and his fight for farmers cause. Farmers from different parts of the State will come and participate in the birthday celebrations of Prof. MDN,” concluded Sangha leader Vidyasagar.
Office-bearers Manjukiran, Katvadipura Shivanna, Marishetty, Immavu Raghu, Satishrao. Shwetha and Shantaraju were present at the press conference.
