Mysore/Mysuru: The Alumni Association of Manasagangothri Post-graduate Sociology Department, University of Mysore (UoM), has organised a get-together of alumni at Maharaja’s College Centenary Hall here tomorrow (Feb. 26).

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Association President H.M. Vasanthamma said that UoM Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Muzaffar Assadi will inaugurate the programme at 10.30 am tomorrow. Delhi Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)’s Centre for the Study of Social Systems faculty Prof. M.N. Panini will be the chief guest. The programme will also feature a talk on the impact of NEP-2020 on Sociology and other issues concerning the subject, she said. Retired Sociology faculty Prof. R. Indira, who was recently conferred Lifetime Achievement Award by the Indian Sociology Association, will be felicitated on the occasion, she added.

Alumni Association Vice-President Prof. M. Rafael, General Secretary M.S. Srinivasan and Treasurer Chikkakempegowda were present at the press meet.
