Mysuru: Condemning the Government’s decision to allot 3,666 acres of land for Jindal Group in Ballari district, Vatal Nagaraj, the President of Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha, staged a protest by lying down at the entrance of Mysuru City Railway Station here this morning.
Speaking to reporters, he warned of staging a protest again in front of DC’s office in Ballari on June 5. He said that Jindal Group is a black-listed company and opined that the State Government has gone bankrupt.
Referring to water release to Tamil Nadu, Nagaraj sought scrapping of the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) and asked the newly-elected 25 MPs from BJP to execute that job.
Earlier this morning, Nagaraj had said in Mandya that he would strongly object release of Cauvery water to TN at this stage when KRS level is low. He threatened to lie down in KRS and stage a protest in the dam site on June 3 and also call for a State bandh with the support of Kannada Sanghas.
