Vedike to launch ‘BJP Alisi, Meesalati Ulisi’ campaign tomorrow

April 2, 2023

Mysore/MysuruKarnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike will launch ‘BJP Alisi, Meesalati Ulisi’ (Get rid of BJP and Save Reservation) campaign tomorrow (Apr. 3).

Addressing media persons at Pathrakartara Bhavana in the city recently, Vedike President K.S. Shivaramu said that the campaign has been planned as  RSS and BJP have hatched a conspiracy to cancel reservation under Category 2A, as a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to hike the percentage of quota under Category 2A, after launching a struggle, has gone unheard.

The Vedike welcomes allotment of six percent reservation under Category 2C and seven percent reservation under Category 2D. But, there is no benefit even after launching a struggle to hike the quota under Category 2A comprising 197 backward classes according to the population, he alleged.

Under Category 2B, the religious minorities were eligible for four percent reservation. Now, it has been cancelled and included under 10 percent reservation given for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). With this the reservation for Muslims stands cancelled, which hints at the revocation of reservation under Category 2A in the coming days. There is a guideline not to include the Backward Classes in the list of Central Government to EWS reservation list. Even Muslims come under Central list, but they have been brought under EWS reservation, by the State Government, which is invalid, he alleged.

After launching the campaign, a meeting will be conducted on Apr. 6 to chalk out plans to extend the campaign, he added.

District Savita Samaja President N.R. Nagesh,  District Kumbarara Sangha President H.S. Prakash, District Uppara Sangha President Yogesh Uppara, Vishwakarma Yuva Vedike President Kendaganna Swamy, State Secretary of KPCC – OBC Wing Harish Moganna, Backward Class leaders R.K. Ravi and Mahesh were present at the press meet.
