Veteran Trade Union leader asks KSRTC staff to return to work

Mysuru: In an audio that has gone viral amid the indefinite strike launched by employees  of the four Road Transport Corporations — Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) and North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC), seeking fulfilment of their various demands, a veteran Trade Union leader is said to have asked the striking workers to withdraw their stir and report for duty.

In the audio , AITUC General Secretary Anantha Subbarao, who has spearheaded many a transport agitations in the past, is said to have advised the striking employees not to enter into a confrontation with the Government and to report for work immediately. Maintaining that employees cannot take on the Government, Subbarao also told the workers to first report for work and their demands can be discussed next.

Reiterating that it would be futile to take on the Government, he is also said to have cautioned the staff against the leadership of  farmer leader Kodihalli Chandrashekar, who is accused of breakup of  Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS), which was once a formidable force under the leadership of Prof. Nanjundaswamy.
