VHP stages protest against atrocities on Hindus in Bangla

December 2, 2024

Mysuru: Activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Mysuru City (District) Unit staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Thursday, condemning the atrocities being committed on the Hindus in Bangladesh.

VHP District President Mahesh Kamath said that the Hindus of India are a peace-loving people, who live in harmony with the people irrespective of religion.

“However, the Islamic fundamentalist jihadis in Bangladesh have been harassing Hindus and other minority communities. The Hindu temples and statues are being vandalised and the properties belonging to Hindus are being destroyed. But, the Bangladesh Government was not taking any serious steps to stop the atrocities,” he added.

The United Nations (UN) and the Government of India have not taken any effective steps to curb them. Contrastingly, the Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das, who was awakening the community for safety and organisational reasons, was arrested, with even his bail application rejected by the Court there.

The Bangladesh Government must protect the Hindu population and UN must interfere and facilitate the release of Das and assist in the safety of Hindus and the temples,  Kamath demanded.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad Vice-President Ambika, Secretary Madhu Shankar, Mamatha, BJP National Member Savitha Ghatke, Gopal, Shivakumar, Vijayendra, Radhakrishna, Assistant Secretary Jayashree, Chetan and Manjunath were present during the protest.
