Vid. Prince Rama Varma to perform at Ganabharathi tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised Dr. R. Sundarachar and Smt. Saraswathy Rao Memorial Concert at its premises in Kuvempunagar tomorrow (Mar. 13) at 6 pm.

 Vid. Prince Rama Varma from Thiruvananthapuram will render a vocal concert. He is accompanied by Vid. Avaneeswaram S.R. Vinu on violin, Vid. Trichy B. Harikumar on mridanga and Vid. N. Amrit on kanjira.

The event is sponsored by T.S. Venugopal and Shailaja.

Artistes’ profile

Vid. Aswathi Thirunal Rama Varma, popularly known as Prince Rama Varma, is a vocalist as well as an exponent of the Saraswati Veena. He has a repertoire of Swathi compositions that is unmatched even by the great masters. He has performed globally and in the all the prestigious music organisations in India. He sphere-headed a move to allow women into Navaratri Mantapam both as artistes as well as listeners.

Vid. Avaneeswaram S.R. Vinu is ‘A Top’ Grade Artiste of AIR and Doordarshan. He is a Kalashree Awardee from Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. Vinu is one of the sought-after accompanying violinists. He has performed all over the world with many leading musicians.

Vid. Trichy B. Harikumar hails from Changanasery. He has accompanied legendary musicians such as K.V. Narayanaswamy, P.S. Narayanaswamy, Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna and Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan.

Vid. N. Amrit is the leading and top ranking kanjira artiste of the world. He has been a recipient of innumerable awards and accolades. He has collaborated with international stars.

Amrit has worked with Music Directors like Oscar Award Winner A.R. Rahman, Nagendra (of Rajan-Nagendra Duo), Hamsalekha, V. Manohar, ‘Grammy Award Winner’ Ricky Kej and others.
