‘Vidyuth 2024’ brings out creative prowess of engineering students

Mysore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.K. Lokanath inaugurates a three-day annual cultural fest

Mysore/Mysuru: Vice- Chancellor of the University of Mysore Prof. N.K. Lokanath inaugurated the three-day annual cultural fest, ‘Vidyuth 2024’, organised by Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) on Friday.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Lokanath remarked, “This annual extravaganza epitomises the creative prowess of engineering students, attracting participants from various institutions who exhibit their talents.”

Innovation, a hallmark of engineering education, propels societal progress beyond conventional boundaries. As we witness unprecedented advancements, such as lunar exploration, spurred by human ingenuity, it becomes evident that the sky no longer limits our aspirations, he added.

VC Prof. Lokanath emphasised the transformative potential of such gatherings, stating, “These events foster enduring friendships and facilitate networking between individuals and institutions. Engaging in healthy competition, you inspire each other to achieve excellence while creating cherished memories that resonate throughout life’s journey.”

Dr. B. Jagadeesh, Cultural Secretary of ‘Vidyuth 2024’, outlined the festival’s diverse lineup of attractions, including on-stage performances, competitive events and engaging activities designed to captivate audiences from across the region.

Gundappa Gowda, President of Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS), along with P. Vishwanath, Secretary, VVS, Shrishaila Rammannavar, Treasurer, VVS and Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda, Principal of VVCE, were present on the occasion.

Following the inauguration, a blood donation camp, in collaboration with Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Mysuru, underscored the event’s commitment to social welfare.

Some of the events of ‘Vidyuth 2024’ are Dog Show, Auto Expo, Rangoli, Feet on Fire, Voice of VVCE, Mehendi, cooking without fire, Box Cricket Championship, Fashion Frontier, Futsal, Tug of War, PS4 Clash, Badminton, Photography Contest and Reels Contest.

Many famous artistes will be performing as a part of Vidyuth including Sandalwood Night and Lagori band, Bollywood Night and Raghav Chaitanya performance, DJ Night and the performance of International DJ Candice Redding.
