Mysore/Mysuru: Chamaraja MLA L. Nagendra said that the works on Vijayanagar Water Tank road, which was left in the lurch for want of funds, will be taken up in a week.
According to the MLA, the works on development of the road on the stretch from the junction (near MLA G.T. Devegowda’s residence) of Kalidasa road and the road leading to the Water Tank will be executed.
Pointing out that the technical wing of Urban Development Department has approved MUDA’s proposal seeking hike of the project cost from Rs. 3,55,29,491 to Rs. 4,93,09,108, he thanked District Minister S.T. Somashekar and Urban Development Minister Byrathi Basavaraj for the hike that was needed for taking up additional works along with road development. Now that funds have been sanctioned, the works will be taken up in a week and executed within the stipulated time period giving no scope for any further delay, he reiterated.
Meanwhile, the road from Trinetra Circle in Gokulam 3rd Stage to Vijayanagar Water Tank too is in a poor condition and motorists and pedestrians alike are experiencing a lot of difficulties while moving on this busy road, which has a lot of crater-like potholes on the entire stretch. The problem gets only bigger when there is heavy rain.
With the development works of all roads leading from Trinetra Circle left pending for years, the people are cursing the authorities and people’s representatives for their apathetic and callous attitude.
