Vimal Kumar (49), a resident of Vivekanada-nagar in the town, passed away on Tuesday night at a private hospital in Hyderabad.

He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends.

The body arrived at his native place on Wednesday night at the last rites were performed yesterday at the burial grounds on the banks of River Cauvery in the town.

A farmer by profession, Vimal had gone on an agricultural study tour along with other farmers to Hyderabad in Telangana. After completing the two-day study tour, Vimal participated in the press meet at Hyderabad and when he went to attend nature’s call, he complained of severe chest pain and collapsed. Though he was rushed to a hospital at Nampally in Hyderabad, Vimal Kumar breathed his last there.
