Visitors throng cake festival even before inauguration

Dist. Minister GTD to formally launch 3-day fest this evening at Jayamma Govindegowda Kalyana Mantap

Mysuru: Hundreds of visitors thronged the Jayamma Govindegowda  Kalyana Mantap, the venue of cake and food festival to taste the cakes even before its formal inauguration here this morning.  Boys, girls as also visitors of all ages arrived to have a gala time digging into the cakes.

The District administration and the Department of Food and Civil Supplies are conducting a three-day cake and food festival as part of Winter Festival (Maaghi utsav) from this evening till Dec. 28.

The inauguration, which was set for this morning at 10, was postponed to this evening. District Minister G.T. Devegowda will inaugurate it at 4 pm. It will be open to the public from 9 am to 9 pm.

Meanwhile, baking enthusiasts across the city including, home bakers, and professionals will all come together by setting up their stalls to showcase their skills and sell varieties of cakes. The district administration has permitted to set up 40 cake stalls and 8 food stalls in the premises of the Kalyana Mantap.   

They were making last minute preparations to display cake complements for every occasion and indulgence like birthday, anniversary, wedding, baby shower, festivals and more. There is an array of flavours from simple to exotic, new techniques, design, and styling, which has evolved in cake making.

Varieties of cakes, including Indian fusion cakes, healthy treats, French dessert, chocolate garnishes, eggless bakes, eggless verines, healthy treats, pastries and more will be on display. Mysureans may visit the various venues where the cake festival is organised and savour on a special delicacy each day of the fest.  

To tickle the taste buds of children, bakers were seen making arrangements to display varieties like Doughnuts, Danish, Croissants, Cinnamon Roll, Tarts, Pies, Pumpkin Pie, Almond Pie, Pecan Pie, Cheery Pie, Caramel Crunchy Pie, Eggless Cakes, Belgium Chocolate and Cheese Cakes.

Pandore Breads, Stollen, Panettoon, Brioche, Ragi, Gluten Free, Almond, Chocolate, Chocochip, Dry Fruit, Yolelog Cakes, Dunde and Ginger Bread Cup Cake and other  cakes.

Foundent Cakes, Butter Cream Cakes, Sugarfree Eggless cakes, Christmas Candy Plum Cakes, variety Pastries, Christmas celebration

Sacher Cake, Fudge Cake, Summer Burry, Queen Cake Lollipop, Twist Marshmallow Cake, Jelly Bean and M&M cake, Marshmallow Con, Black Forest-Torte, Profiterole, Eclairs, Tiramis, Opera, Caramel Crunchy Pie, Souffle, Mousses, Hot Chocolate Spoons, Carrot Cheese Forest and Cinnamon Honey, 40 types of different pastries will be on display.
