Pramoda Devi Wadiyar is seen flagging of the First Ultra Marathon for Visually Impaired from Mysuru to Bengaluru, organised by Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, in association with Pinkathon, at Mysore Palace premises this morning. Trust Founder – Managing Trustee G.K. Mahantesh, Trustee Vasanthi Savanoor and others are also seen. Six of the visually impaired athletes, who left Mysuru along with their guide runners at 5 am today, will reach Bengaluru around 4.30 pm on Jan.25 by covering a total of 150 kms. They have pit stops at Mandya, Maddur and Bidadi en route where members from other NGOs will join the Run. Also, the participants will be felicitated at BGS Blind School in Ramanagaram. The runners from Mysuru include 20-year-old Mala Kolkar (BA 2nd year) with guide Venkatesh Narasimhamurthy; 22-year-old Nandeesha Janardan (completed SSLC) with guide N.V. Rajesh; 21-year-old N.D. Sunitha (BA student) with coach and guide Bhumika Patel; 19-year-old Renuka Rajput (Degree student) with guide Bhadresh Shivashankar; 19-year-old N. Kavya (SSLC student) with guide Nandish Kumar and 24-year-old Ajay Eranna (completed BA) with guide Sachin Tiptur.
