Vocal concert at N.R. Mohalla Temple on May 25

Mysuru: N.R. Mohalla Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust has organised a vocal concert by Vidushi Vidya Kalyana Raman of Chennai on May 25 (Saturday) at 6.30 pm at Sri Prasanna Mahaganapathi Temple, Shivaji Road, N.R. Mohalla.

She will be accompanied by Vid. C.N. Thyagarajan on violin, Vid. H.L. Shivashankara Swamy on mridanga and Vid. Raghunandan Rao on ghata. The event is sponsored by  Dr. K. Savithri and Kannada & Culture Department.

Profile: Vidya Kalyana Raman, an ‘A’ Grade artiste of All India Radio, Chennai, had her initial training under the tutelage of Vidu. Padma Sandilyan for nearly 10 years and subsequently under Vidu. Suguna Varadachary from the year 2005.

She had the privilege of rendering a music performance at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi in the presence of the then President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. She has performed in various Sabhas both in India and abroad. She also served as the President of the Youth Association of Classical Music during 2005-2007.

She has bagged a number of Awards from various institutions and Sabhas like the Music Academy, Krishna Gana Sabha, Barath Kalachar, Indian Fine Arts, apart from getting various scholarships from the Government.
