Vocal concert at Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya’s house

Mysore/Mysuru: Kalambika Sisters, Vidu. Kaladhari Bhavani and Vidu. Ambika Dath, from the  famed Chilkunda music family, are presenting a vocal concert at Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya’s house in city on Saturday (July 9). They will be accompanied by Vid. Srikanth Radhakrishnan on violin and Dr. C. A. Gurudath on mridanga. The concert is scheduled for two hours from 10.30 am. 

 Profiles: Disciples of their father Vid. Dr. C. A. Gurudath, both the sisters have been conferred direct B-high grade from All India Radio. Both are recipients of Scholarship to Young Artistes from Ministry of Culture and have bagged First Rank in Vidwat examination.

Vidu. Kaladhari is the winner of national level “M.S. Subbalakshmi – Voice of the Year 2019” award. While she is a Gold medallist in M.Sc. (Psychology), from Bangalore University, Vidu. Ambika Dath is a Gold medallist in M.Tech. (Power Electronics) of the  Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). The sisters have presented concerts all over the State and have released two audio albums.

Vid. Srikanth Radhakrishnan is an accomplished vocalist and violinist, with over two decades of performing experience across locations in Singapore and India. He is currently under the tutelage of Vid. V.V. Ravi and Vid. S. Shankar. Vid. Srikanth holds a Master’s in Music degree from the University of Madras and is a graded artiste of AIR. 

Dr. C.A. Gurudath hails from the illustrious Chilkunda family of Music and Veda.  A disciple of Vid. Nagabhushanachar in mridanga, he has accompanied many senior artistes all over the country.

 He holds a Doctoral degree in Law and has served as Dean, Director and Vice-Chancellor of Universities at Bhopal and Delhi and is currently serving as Dean of School of Law at SRM University, Chennai.
