Mysore/Mysuru: A vocal concert will be presented by Dr. Uma Ramakrishnan at Sangita Kalaanidhi Mysore K. Vasudevacharya’s House, opposite Senthil Kumar Textiles, New Saturday (Oct. 15) between 10.30 am and 12.30 p.m.

She will be accompanied by Vid. Amogh Nadadur on violin and Vid. Puttur T. Nikshith on mridanga.

Profile: Dr. Uma Ramakrishnan hails from a rich musical lineage where her family members belong to Classical tradition. At the age of 7, she made her humble beginnings in Karnatak music from her aunt Meenakshi Ammal.  She had the opportunity to learn from ‘Sangeetha Kalarathna’ Jayalakshmi Srinivasan (popularly known as Kerala MSS). Uma honed her skills further under Chitravina Ganesh. She is presently undergoing rigorous training under Dr. Sriram Parasuram and Guru Mannarkoil J Balaji.

Vid. Amogh, a student of Vid. H.K. Narasimha Murthi, is a promising young violinist, having accompanied many renowned artistes.

Vid. Nikshit, a disciple of Vid.Kukkila Shankara Bhat and Vid.Mannarkoil J. Balaji, is a B-High graded AIR artiste.
