Sir,
This is my suggestion to the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding the present voters list, which is very haphazard and defies any logic.
I wonder why the lists are not generated door number-wise instead of the present queer manner. It’s easier to search for names. Presently, part of a family’s names appear in different lists. Why is it so?
When new names are added in a list, the limit of 1,000 names per list will cause this chaos. Instead of sticking to 1,000 names per list, a few names more or less should be allowed to overcome this problem. Thus the complete family list is moved to the next.
I hope the ECI will address this issue immediately on priority basis before the next elections. This will also help the enumerators, who are doing door-to-door verification.
It is time to provide enumerators with tablets for speedier registrations, corrections and deletions of voters. This saves a lot of time in acquiring data, collating or generating reports and more importantly saving lot of paper work, time and human errors. Will the EC take some action and publish the steps taken in this regard?
