Mysore/Mysuru: Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology (VCET), Puttur and Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management of Mangaluru, emerged as the overall champions in men’s and women’s category respectively, at the 25th VTU Inter College State-level Athletic Meet 2023-24 held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium, here recently.

The trophies to winners were presented by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr. P. Shivaraju and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Ashaad-Ur-Rahman Shariff.

Speaking on the occasion, Shivaraju said, the students were excelling in extra-curricular activities by showcasing their skills. He also called upon more and more number of students to take part in similar events.

Ashaad-Ur-Rahman Shariff, who spoke on the occasion, said that engineering students giving emphasis to sports, apart from being busy in their academics was a good development.

Later, M. Karthik, a student of Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT), Tumakuru and M.S. Chaitanya, a student of Srinivas Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET), Tumakuru, who emerged as individual champions respectively in men’s and women’s category, were presented with the trophies.

VTU Regional Centre Director Dr. T.P. Renukamurthy, Department of Physical Education Director Dr. P.V. Kadagadakai, Organising Secretary Dr. M. Prasanna Kumar, G.L. Raghunandan and others were present on the occasion.
