Mysuru: As part of World Heart Day, the Cardiological Society of India (CSI), Mysore Chapter, had organised a walkathon to create awareness on the importance of healthy heart in city yesterday.
Cardiologist Dr. C.D. Srinivas Murthy flagged off the walkathon at MMC&RI Platinum Jubilee Hall at J.K. Grounds in which nearly 300 participants took part.
The 2-km walk passed through Dhanvantri Road, Sayyaji Rao Road, Devaraj Urs Road, Dewan’s Road and culminated at J.K. Grounds. Speaking after flagging off the walkathon, Dr. Srinivas Murthy said that heart is one of the important organs in a human body which should be taken care of. “Take care of my heart, your heart and everyone’s heart,” he said and added “walk daily to keep the heart healthy.”
CSI President Dr. Santosh, Hon. Secretary Dr. P. Jayakumar, Dr. S.P. Yoganna, Dr. Javeed Nayeem, Dr. (Capt.) G.S. Venkatesh and others were present.
