Walkathon marks Audiologists Day

Mysuru: JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing (JSSISH), M.G. Road, Mysuru, had organised a walkathon as part of World Audiologists Day to create awareness on the ill-effects of sound and noise, to promote hearing care and prevent hearing loss.

The event, which was held on Oct. 10, was flagged off by JSSISH Director Dr. N.P. Nataraja from the Institute campus.

Participants, holding placards with messages on the importance of protecting the sense of hearing, passed via Agrahara Circle, Siddappa Square, RTO Circle, JLB Road, Ramaswamy Circle and Basaveshwara Circle, culminated at JSS Hospital.

Street plays on the importance of infant hearing screening and adult hearing rehabilitation, importance of early identification of hearing loss and prevention of wrong practices which are harmful to the ear were staged at Agrahara and JSS Mahavidyapeetha Circle.

Students and staff of JSSISH took part in the walkathon.
