Wall painting contest draws 25 artists

Mysuru: As part of Swachh Survekshan, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) in association with D.K. Construction and Namma Mysuru Foundation had organised a wall painting contest this morning in Nazarbad here.

The painting contest was held on the Zoo wall on MG Road from Race Course Circle to Rana Pratap Singh Circle. The wall was divided into 57 blocks and 25 artists who have been selected through online registration took up the task of painting with theme on environmental protection, wildlife protection and cleanliness.

The best two paintings would get cash prizes of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively with consolation prizes for all the participants.

The thematic paintings would continue on the walls in city with honoraria for the artists.

MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Health Officer Dr. Nagaraj, Environmental Officers Mytri, Poornima, R. Yogesh, Dasharath of  DK Construction and Lokesh of Namma Mysuru Foundation were present.
