Waste paper, plastic godown gutted

Mysore/Mysuru: A waste paper and plastic godown on C.V. Road in Bannimantap was destroyed in an accidental fire in the wee hours of today.

Lohith, Proprietor of the godown, speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, said that he received a call at about 3.30 am where the caller told him that his godown was on fire and he immediately rushed to the spot.

He said that nearly Rs.30 lakh worth waste papers and plastic were destroyed in the fire and added that eight fire tenders which had rushed to the spot, managed to douse the fire and prevented it from spreading further. 

Sources said that the fire was first noticed at about 1.30 am and fire tenders from Bannimantap Fire Station rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. But again, fire was noticed again at 3.30 am and fire tenders from Hebbal and Saraswathipuram Fire Stations rushed to the spot and doused the fire. 

A case has been registered at N.R. Police Station.
