Wasting money on interlock tiles

November 19, 2023

Sir,

It is observed everywhere nowadays that the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is laying interlocking tiles for the footpaths. It is indeed a good initiative which provides safe and comfortable walking area to pedestrians.

But, unfortunately in many areas due to improper maintenance and timely not removing the weeds, grass, small plants that are growing between the gaps of these tiles, these are slowing occupying the entire footpaths.

If these are not attended to quickly, the entire area of footpaths will get occupied and that forces pedestrians to again walk on roads which is very unsafe. As a result, the entire expenses incurred would go waste and it is a drain of public money. Hope the civic authorities will come out with monthly maintenance schedules, to avoid the drain of citizens hard-earned money which is utilised to lay the tiles.
