Watch Out! Fake Rs. 2,000 notes found in Mysuru

February 9, 2018

Mysuru:  Incidents of fake Rs. 2,000 currencies being circulated has come to light in city.

Incidents of a fake Rs. 2,000 note being given as payment for water bill by a consumer in Azeez Sait Nagar and a person giving a fake Rs. 2,000 currency at a medical store on purchase of medicines and taking back the change for it, was reported at Dr. Rajkumar Road in N.R. Constituency.

Corporator Shoukath Pasha, who got this information, immediately lodged an oral complaint with City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao.

Though the Government had demonetised higher currencies and brought in new currencies, miscreants have even faked the new currencies and are circulating the same in city, thus cheating the public, which is evident in the above incidents.
