Water supply timings need to be revised

February 14, 2017

Sir,

With the failure of monsoon, many parts of the city is already experiencing water scarcity which everyone is aware. We see people buying water in tankers of late.

I have observed that Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) is opening the water valve late in the night and closing the same by early morning. Such practice leads to lot of water wastage by overflowing sumps.

Moreover, if VVWW opens the valve between 6 am and 9 am, citizens can use the tap water directly instead of pumping it to the overhead tank. This will save a few units of power which is a win-win situation for both the CESC and the households.

Hope, a right decision will be taken to save the scarce water and electricity.
