Mysuru: The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) officials seems to have turned a blind eye towards wastage of drinking water over the past few years near Princess Krishnajammanni Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases Hospital (PKTB and C.D Hospital) on KRS Road.
Water leaking from the pipeline flows to the storm water drain near the Trauma Care Centre while a significant portion gets stagnant near Jayadeva Hospital which has attracted severe criticism from the general public.

This apart, people waiting at the bus stand near the hospital have been facing issues as the water gets splashed on them with vehicles passing through the stagnant water. With the presence of water on one side of the road, two-wheelers are forced to travel only on right side that has been resulted in frequent accidents. There have also been complaints on traffic jam as vehicular movement becomes slow with vehicles turning towards Brindavan Extension. While the State has been facing severe drought with water level decreasing considerably at KRS reservoir, incidents of water wastage going unnoticed by the Vani Vilas Water Works of MCC has raised several eyebrows. Even Public Works Department, which is in charge of constructing roads, has also maintained its distance from the issue.
