Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that poverty and unemployment is still rampant in the country even after 75 years of Independence, SUCI (Socialist Unity Centre of India) State Committee Member M.N. Sriram alleged that the Government has resorted to communalism in order to hide its failures.
He was speaking after releasing three translated works of SUCI Founder Shivadas Ghosh — “August 15 Swaatantra Mattu Janatheya Vimukti,” “Bharatadalli Samskrutika Chaluvali Mattu Namma Kartavyagalu” and “Chinada Samskrutika Kranti” at a programme organised marking the birth centenary of Shivadas Ghosh, at the Institution of Engineers on JLB road here recently.
Asserting that the country has fallen into the trap of Capitalism, Sriram charged the BJP Government of bringing communalism to the fore in order to hide his own failures in addressing burning problems of the country.
Pointing out that Shivadas founded SUCI in 1948 in order to ensure that the labour class get real freedom, he said that though the country gained independence in 1947, it was only political freedom.
Sriram argued that Shivadas Ghosh’s thoughts are crucial in solving social problems such as crimes, corruption, communalism, price rise etc. He also lashed out at the Government for commercialisation of health and education sectors which are very crucial for the society.
SUCI District Secretary B. Ravi spoke about the books.
Office-bearers M. Umadevi, Chandrashekar Meti and others were present.
