Mysore/Mysuru: The Centre for Workplace Safety and Health at National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, will beholding a ‘National Forum on Workplace Safety and Health’, to celebrate its first anniversary, from 9 am to 11.15 am on Sunday (Dec. 6). The event will be broadcast as a webinar.
Padma Vibhushan N.R. Narayana Murthy of Infosys will be the chief guest. Founder-Director Dr. N. Krishnamurthy will give a brief overview of the Centre and its activities.
Dr. R.K. Elangovan, Director-General of the Directorate General of Factory Advice and Labour Institutes (DGFASLI) will speak on the Government’s plans and role in India’s occupational safety and health.
Dr. Karisiddappa, Vice-Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University, will next present the academic view of the importance of education and training on workplace safety.
Sharmila Kantha, Principal Consultant for the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), will address workplace safety from the viewpoint of industry.
