Week-long online workshop on Smart Teaching and Learning at St. Joseph’s College of Education

Mysore/Mysuru: Considering the ongoing pandemic, St. Joseph’s College of Education, Jayalakshmipuram, Mysuru, has organised a one week online workshop on “Smart Teaching and Learning for Teachers” under the IQAC of the institution for the teachers working under Mysore Diocesan Educational Society (MDES).

The workshop being held from May 12 to 18 aims to equip the teachers to meet the challenges of present scenario. 

 While delivering the welcome address, Dr. Priya Mathew, Principal, St. Joseph’s College of Education, and Convener of this programme, emphasised that it is a very special academic year for St. Joseph’s College of Education as it marks the Golden Jubilee Year. 

The Principal also mentioned that this workshop is just the beginning of varied activities envisaged to commemorate the Golden Jubilee.

 The sub-themes of the online workshop are as follows: 

E-content development and editing; Learning Management System; Online Communication; Engaging Presentation; Enhancing Teamwork; Digital Assessment and Virtual Classroom.

Rev. Fr. Vijay Kumar, Secretary and Correspondent, MDES, in his inaugural address called upon the teachers to “Wage a war against COVID-19 by learning all the technical and online skills.” 

Resource person M.K. Naseerali, Assistant Professor, author and trainer in Educational Technology, Aligarh Muslim University Centre, Malappuram, Kerala; Joyce Lobo, CEO of St. Joseph’s and St. Matthias institutions and the Co-ordinator of the workshop; Asha P. Pathrose, IQAC Co-ordinator of the institution, took part in the online session.
