Weekend concerts at Nadabrahma

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru, has organised the following music concerts at its premises on JLB Road this weekend:

Aug. 23 (Saturday) at 6 pm: Vid. S.R. Vinay will give a vocal concert for V. Raman Memorial Concert sponsored by Sudha Raman and Aroon Raman. He will be accompanied by Vid. Kritik Kaushik on violin, Vid. Sunad Krishna Amai on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Kaushik on ghata.

Vid. Vinay had his initial training under Vidu. Seethalakshmi, Vidu. Lalitha Chandramouli  and later came under the tutelage of Vid. R.K. Padmanabha. He is undergoing advanced training under Vid.  Malladi Suribabu, the father of Vidwans Malladi Sreeramprasad and Ravi Kumar.

Vinay’s music school, Vadiraja Kala Kendra at Vadiraja Kala Mandira in Hulimavu, Bengaluru, that started with the blessings of Guru Ganakalabhushana R.K. Padamanabha, has been grooming over 45 students.

Aug. 24 (Sunday) at 6 pm: Vid. Sumanth Manjunath and Vidu. Malavi Manjunath will present a violin duet for Dr. K.V. Manohar Memorial Concert sponsored by Dr. Uma and Dr. Ravishankar. Vid. B.C. Manjunath will accompany them on mridanga and Vid. Skanda   Manjunath on ghata.

The young violin duo from Mysuru, Sumanth  and Malavi (children and disciples  of Violin Maestro Dr. Mysore Manjunath) are carrying forward the rich Mysore musical tradition. He was invited to perform at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Republic Day, before the President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi.

Malavi, still in her school, has created a sensation as a meritorious young violinist. She has performed at Indian Embassy in Sri Lanka during Republic Day.
