Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has arranged two Karnatak classical music programmes this weekend at Sangeetha Kalanidhi Mysore K. Vasudevacharya Bhavana at 6 pm.
June 20: Vocal concert by Vid. G.K. Manamohan, accompanied by Vid. Keshav Mohankumar on violin, Vid. Sunadakrishna Amai on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Koushik on ghata.
Vid. G.K. Manamohan exhibited his musical talent at the age of three. His supportive parents put him under the tutelage of Vidu. H.N. Rajalakshmi when he was five. Later he was also groomed by Vidu. Vasantha Sundararajan and Vidu. Pushpa Srinivasan. Beginning from the age of 13, he has performed in number of prestigious Sabhas in India and USA.
A graded artiste of AIR, he secured first place in the All India competition (devotional music) conducted by Akashvani in 2002 and was invited for a guest lecture at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, during 2006-07.
He has guided many young music enthusiasts and composed and directed some instrumental ensemble pieces, which have been acclaimed. His unique manodharma and bhava-laden renditions have earned accolades both from scholars and music enthusiasts. An MS graduate in Environmental Science, Manamohan was working in University of California, made his mind to return to India and pursue music.

Dr. T.S. Sathyavathi is an internationally acclaimed Karnatak vocalist, Sanskrit scholar, tunesmith, organiser and musicologist with over five decades of distinction in performance, teaching and research.
A child prodigy who sang before the Maharani of Mysore at the age of two, she has been recognised as an enthralling performer by the critics and connoisseurs alike. Her mentors include legendary gurus like Padma Bhushan awardee R.K. Srikantan.
With a Ph.D in Sanskrit and proficiency in Music, her contributions in entertaining, educating & elevating the cultural sensitivity is praised as remarkable. She is acknowledged as a revered guru, who has trained several students, deeply impacted the fields of Karnatak music and Sanskrit literature.
She has occupied numerous prestigious posts focussed on enriching the cultural legacy of the land. She has been conferred with a number of coveted awards at both State and National levels, including the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for 2026.
